However many restaurants realize that there are some dishes that foreigners order expecting that they will come as a starter so they will try to make sure that these dishes are ready first. Other soups are not spicy, such as Clear Soup with Minced Pork, and are a good choice when the other dishes being eaten are spicy. Another popular soup is Chicken in Coconut Milk Soup which is a thick, creamy soup. Soups are eaten as part of a main meal and will be one of several dishes at any meal. However, at home you may want to serve the soup as a starter as many people are not used to eating soup along with rice.
